We’ve tried to approach the new addition to the family as not ANOTHER child but a best friend for our (almost) 8 year old. By doing it this way, she doesn’t feel like she’s about to be replaced but feels excited because she’s gaining a best friend, a sibling, someone who will (hopefully) want to play all the time. It’s cute and I’m excited to see our oldest transition into big sister.
