Product Review: Bissell CleanView

The Bissell CleanView is a great vacuum. I had been wanting something that would do the job of sucking up the pet hair that was getting stuck in my popcorn rug. It would annoy me to find that I would still have little stray dog hairs left behind after I finished vacuuming. I was frustrated and needed something new.

The Bissell CleanView has the typical features of a vacuum. The first time I used it, I was amazed at how much dirt and dog hair my previous vacuum was still leaving behind. I literally vacuumed my popcorn rug with my old vacuum right before using my new Bissell. I was very impressed at just how much it was able to pick up.

So I moved onto the couch. I detached the hose and added the small vacuum attachment for things like upholstery and stairs. It was then that I became disappointed. While it picked up the hair and dirt just fine, the hose was so springy that I had to fight to extend it to reach across the couch. And when I did this, the handle of the vacuum began to rock, hitting me in the back. In order to avoid being abused by the vacuum, I had to hold the vacuum still and try to vacuum as much of the couch that I could. Another thing I noticed when I finished this, is that because of the rocking, the vacuum made it’s way on top of the chord and ground down on the chord, almost exposing the wire.

Something else that I was taken aback by was the fact that there was no power button for my foot to press. It was a toggle switch low on the side of the vacuum. I like to step and go when I am ready to vacuum!

The Bissell does an excellent job at picking up what you need it to. It is easy to use and clean. It has all of the attachments and features you need and for an affordable price. I am also pleased with how easy it is to dispose of the dirt and hair and to clean the filters. It comes with a washable filter so that keeps the vacuum fresh and clean.

If you are in the market for something inexpensive that does a great job of picking up dirt and hair from your carpet, then I recommend the Bissell CleanView. Just be aware that the hose is tight when first using it.

We received a Bissell CleanView to review in exchange for our words, and as always, all opinions are our own.
